The artsy geeky me
I’m a designing, code-tickling, font-whoring creative type whose best work comes from well-thought-out mistakes
My design style
My digital design style is very much like my home decor style, according to Apartment Therapy.
-
Warm Industrial
You’re pretty casual; comfort at home is super important to you. You’re into rustic details, often with elements of wood, leather and metal but you keep it warm with lots of texture and plenty of light. You don’t like things that are too finished, in fact, you revel in the rough.
-
Classic Glam
You love good bones and interesting details like molding or pattern. You gravitate towards a soothing palette — softer colors, darks or neutrals — but you also love a good metallic accent. You don’t mind ornate shapes or extra frills and you have a sense of history about your decor.

Graphics!
watercolor grunge butterfly
The original grunge butterfly edited with a softer palette of bluish gray, sharpened, and a grunge edge added.

washed sunflower & BDSM emblem
Sunflower against a colorful wooden fence: The original image is stunning already. However, it was a little too vibrant for my project, so I gave it a bit of a whitewash treatment. I also isolated the flower & vase so I could position the BDSMblem — complete with an applied shadow — as if it were leaning slightly against the wall.

nkyinkyim : Andinkra symbol
I love a chevron pattern like in the original picture. Again, I needed a more subdued look. I played with levels and shadows to complete the Nkyinkyim, then filled it with a sleek image. The text is in one of my funky fonts.

kiss me on my neck
Some of my favorite Erykah lyrics on my custom background: I had fun playing with these fonts; it’s like mixing metals. I did black/white & white/black versions as well.
